The SIP line gateway was introduced in

Rel 6 but in Rel 7.5 it has been

extended to embrace the Avaya One X

Communicator.

The SIP line gateway resides on a Linux

server and forms part of the IP

telephony node. Sets communicate with

the system using SIPL Virtual trunks

and a special route configured purely for

the purpose.

The UEXT allows the system to

communicate more feature information

to the sets than was previously possible

allowing more features to be supported.
